Meghan Markle felt she was “treated so badly” by the Royal Family during her UK trip with Prince Harry, reports suggest. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent time in Britain in early July, briefly reuniting their children with King Charles for the first time in four years.
But Meghan wasn’t happy with how the visit panned out and felt the couple were being treated like “a pair of outsiders”, a source said. The source told the National Examiner that Harry and Meghan felt “completely micromanaged” by the Palace, with the conditions of the reunion including “no drama and no cameras”. Limits placed on photos and posts shared online were described as “especially insulting”.
While Harry tried to “put it behind them” and focus on building bridges with his family, Meghan, who celebrates her 45th birthday today, August 4, was reportedly left “just not feeling motivated”.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is celebrating her 45th birthday today, took to her official Instagram account on Sunday evening to share a clip of her strolling in her garden.
In the video, Meghan’s shadow can be seen walking into her garden, which is in full bloom, before she’s heard cutting some flowers and placing them in a vase.
