Embarrassing teacher rocks out to middle school band’s show-stopping Sweet Child Of Mine performance
When a band of child prodigies brought School of Rock vibes to life on their middle school’s stage, one embarrassed teacher in the audience couldn’t help but rock out as if he were at a Guns N’ Roses concert.

As the middle schoolers dared to play “Sweet Child O Mine” for the entire staff, student body, and their parents, the teacher stood up in the front row, devil horns raised and dancing to the child pro’s flawless recreation of Slash’s iconic guitar intro. The moment has left the internet cackling, going viral with more than 2.5 million views. Music Man readers can watch the hilarious moment unfold in the video below…
Against all odds, the pre-teens absolutely slay their live cover from beginning to end, maneuvering each complex riff of the 80s hit as if they’ve been touring with this song for years. The pipsqueak vocalist adds a pop twist to the legendary track; the drummer nails every beat; the bassist and keyboardist play it cool as they flesh out the flashback sound.

But every time the guitarist steals the spotlight like a tiny Slash in the making, one suit-and-tie-dressed teacher (who we can only assume is the band director that first set this band in the Guns N’ Roses groove) stands on his feet in the front row and makes the rock gig atmosphere complete.
He dances alone while the whole school watches, the band seemingly unfazed by his hilarious antics as if he acts this way during every rehearsal. He’s the ultimate hype-man and super fan as he breaks the dreary mood of the silently sitting audience, miming along to the lyrics like he was watching the real Guns N’ Roses perform, and throwing thumbs-up signs to the band as he dances, headbangs, and plays his air guitar. While the teen pros manifest their School Of Rock dream, this teacher steps straight into Jack Black’s role in all its eccentricity and passion.
Fans of this viral clip have been flooding the comments section with praise for the band, shouting out the drummer’s unbelievable skills and the singer’s winning battle against her nerves.
But, needless to say, the band’s director has been stealing the limelight, stirring both controversy and admiration from viewers.
One top commenter realized, “This guy really enjoys his work. What a shame not every teacher brings that kind of love to the table,” while another noticed, “I don’t know the teacher/director but his enthusiasm shows me he cares about those children.”
However, one viewer hit the nail on the head when they wrote to the tune of 4.7K likes, “To those saying the director looked like a clown, made the show about him, needed to stay out of the way, etc, you are wrong. This man helped make this performance something these kids will remember their whole life. He got the crowd enthusiastic which in turn encouraged the band. He was amazing. And so were the kids playing. I’m 68 years old and some of my best memories are of my time in the high school band. And we had a director very much like this man. These kids are so fortunate to have this man as their teacher. In my opinion, the show would NOT have had the same impact if the director had stood there still, in front of his music stand with his sheet music, waving his baton to keep time with the band.”
