As the Princess of Wales stepped onto Centre Court to present the Venus Rosewater Dish, the crowd erupted—but it was the heartfelt conversation she shared with one player before the trophy ceremony that has left fans talking long after the applause faded. From an emotional exchange about cancer to a sweet revelation about Prince Louis’ Wimbledon dream, Kate’s latest appearance became about far more than tennis

PRINCESS Kate dazzled in an elegant red dress as she presented Linda Noskova with the Wimbledon trophy.

Kate, 44, looked exquisite for the Ladies’ Singles Final when she presented the 21-year-old Czech with the trophy after her hard fought victory.

The Princess of Wales received a huge standing ovation as she stepped onto Centre Court before handing over the coveted Venus Rosewater Dish following a gripping three-set battle.

Ninth seed Noskova clinched her first Grand Slam title after defeating fellow Czech Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, in a dramatic final.

The 21-year-old became the youngest Wimbledon women’s champion since 2011 after holding her nerve in a contest packed with twists and turns.

Muchova produced a remarkable fightback after saving five championship points and recovering from a set and a break down to force a deciding set.

But Noskova refused to be denied, sealing the biggest victory of her career to lift the famous trophy from the Princess.

Earlier, Kate was greeted with cheers from the packed Centre Court crowd as she waved from the Royal Box before taking her seat for the final.

Yesterday marked her 10th year as royal patron of the All England Club after taking over the prestigious role from the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.

She joined a star-studded audience for the showpiece between the two Czech stars, making it her second visit to SW19 during this year’s Championships.

Last week, the Princess broke with tradition by watching British hopefuls Arthur Fery and Katie Swan before meeting fans in the famous Wimbledon queue and even helping to sell tickets.

Before yesterday’s final, Kate met the staff and players who help make Wimbledon run behind the scenes.

While chatting to Jenna Fontanilla, 18, who works in the services team, she revealed that Prince Louis, eight, would love to become a Wimbledon ball boy.

Jenna, from Sutton, south London, said: “She told me about how Louis was asking her about how to become a ball boy, and we were talking about how much hard work it is to be on court and how we work alongside the ball kids, and it’s just so lovely.”

Kate also met Canadian doubles star Gabriella “Gaby” Dabrowski, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024.

The Princess, who is in remission from cancer herself, told the tennis ace she was “amazing” for continuing to compete throughout her treatment.

She described Dabrowski as “very inspirational”, adding that what she loves about sport is “you can still prove that your body is strong”.

Speaking afterwards, Gaby said: “I feel the same about her story as well.”

The pair also discussed Kate’s recent Three Peaks Challenge.

Gaby added: “It was a very beautiful moment, I didn’t expect to be emotional.”

The penultimate day of the Championships also saw Britain’s Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid crowned the men’s wheelchair doubles champions.

Princess Kate congratulated the pair on their “wonderful achievement”.

Posting on Kensington Royal’s X account, she wrote: “Huge congratulations to you both, an extraordinary partnership and another very special moment at Wimbledon. You continue to inspire so many.”

Hewett described the victory as “the stuff of dreams”.

British doubles star Henry Patten also lifted the trophy alongside Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara, saying afterwards he felt “very, very lucky and very proud” following their straight-sets victory.
