Queen and Adam Lambert Shock Sydney Crowd as Lady Gaga Makes Surprise Appearance for Electrifying “Another One Bites the Dust” Performance
A Queen and Adam Lambert concert is already enough to turn heads, but fans in Sydney were given an unforgettable surprise when Lady Gaga suddenly joined the band onstage for a high-energy performance of “Another One Bites the Dust.”
The unexpected appearance took place during Queen’s show in Sydney on August 27, 2014, when Lambert was performing the band’s iconic 1980 hit.

Lambert began the song with a powerful vocal performance before Gaga unexpectedly appeared for the second verse, immediately bringing another burst of energy to the stage.
Lady Gaga nearly went unnoticed
Gaga arrived wearing a dramatic teased black wig that added considerable height to her look, seemingly echoing Cher’s famous hairstyle from the 1980s.
The unusual appearance even appeared to leave some members of the audience unsure of who had just stepped onto the stage.
That changed when Lambert introduced her by name — and the crowd erupted.
The pair then began trading vocal lines, feeding off each other’s energy as they moved closer to the audience.
One of the most memorable sections came shortly after the two-minute mark, when Lambert and Gaga made their way onto the walkway at the front of the stage and continued exchanging lines while performing directly in front of the crowd.
Their chemistry transformed the already-famous Queen song into a completely unexpected live collaboration.
A song that became a Queen classic
“Another One Bites the Dust” was released on August 22, 1980, as the fourth single from Queen’s eighth studio album, The Game.
Written by Queen bassist John Deacon, the funk-rock track quickly became a global success and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song went on to become Queen’s highest-selling single, with seven million units sold, and was later ranked No. 34 on Billboard’s All-Time Top Songs list.
It has also remained one of the band’s biggest streaming hits. “Another One Bites the Dust” is among only three Queen songs to pass two billion Spotify streams, ranking behind “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Queen’s history of unforgettable live collaborations

Queen have repeatedly created memorable moments onstage, both with their own catalogue and through unexpected collaborations.
Another standout performance featured guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor sharing vocals with Paul Rodgers, the former Bad Company singer, during a performance of John Lennon’s “Imagine” at Hyde Park.
The moment also highlighted the vocal abilities within Queen beyond their traditional lead-vocal role, with both May and Taylor contributing distinctive harmonies and backing vocals.
But the Sydney performance with Gaga remains particularly striking because of how unexpected her arrival was.

What began as Lambert leading Queen through one of the band’s most recognisable hits suddenly became a surprise duet — leaving the Sydney audience with a performance they were unlikely to forget.
