Prince Harry Names the Greatest ‘British Harry’ — And It’s Not Him
Prince Harry has some tough competition if he wants to be the greatest ‘British Harry,’ and he recently acknowledged it.
The UK is responsible for some of the greatest inventions in history, but the country is also proud of its famous Harrys across various fields. Global pop star Harry Styles, soccer star Harry Kane, the most popular fictional wizard Harry Potter, and, of course, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, all hail from Great Britain. The royal recently named who he considers the greatest British Harry of them all, and his pick was genuinely surprising.
Presently, the jury is still out on Harry listing two of his occupations as “Prince of England” and “the Duke” when he appeared on Joe Marler’s podcast last week. However, the Duke of Sussex recently appeared on After Hours—a sports show on Fox Sports hosted by James Corden and former English soccer player Rio Ferdinand—to discuss the FIFA World Cup final.
During the episode, Corden showed the royal a clip from a previous show where the hosts debated who the greatest ‘British Harry’ was before asking Harry the exact same question. Initially baffled, the 41-year-old protested, “There’s a conflict of interest here!” However, he soon leaned into the lighthearted conversation and listed his all-time favorite British Harry ranking. He gave Styles the top spot, followed by Kane, before admitting there would be a tie between Potter and himself. “And we’ll have a Quidditch-off,” he added. Corden seemed thrilled with the answer, exclaiming, “Great shout!” Watch the video here!
The Duke previously met Styles alongside his former One Direction bandmates—Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and the late Liam Payne—at the 2015 Royal Variety Performance before crossing paths with the singer again at the 2017 world premiere of Dunkirk. Beyond sharing a name and nationality, the two Harrys have spent much of their lives in the public eye. While the royal has been a household name since birth, Styles shot to fame at age sixteen following his breakout run on the reality show The X Factor.
During the appearance, Prince Harry also shared his thoughts on the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He admitted he was “of course” sad following England’s semi-final loss to Argentina—a sentiment echoed hours earlier by his estranged brother, Prince William, who said he was “gutted” by the defeat. While England missed out on the final, the team secured third place after defeating France in a thrilling match on Saturday.
The FIFA World Cup final was played between Spain and Argentina. The former took home the trophy for the second time in history, after winning 1-0 against the defending champions.
