Two years after her unforgettable Thanksgiving halftime performance, country superstar Lainey Wilson returned to AT&T Stadium for a special reunion with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

Lainey Wilson Reunites With Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for Pregame Dance

Lainey Wilson returned to the spotlight at AT&T Stadium, joining the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for a pregame dance that brought back memories of her memorable Thanksgiving Day halftime performance two years earlier.

The country star made a guest appearance at the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, October 8, in Arlington, Texas. Before kickoff, she reunited with the cheerleaders to recreate a dance inspired by her recent single, “Phone, Keys, Wallet”.

Lainey Wilson Reflects on Her Special Cowboys Connection

Wilson’s latest appearance marked a return to a venue where she had already experienced a major career moment.

On November 28, 2024, the Louisiana native performed during the Dallas Cowboys’ annual Thanksgiving Day game, helping launch The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign with a halftime show. The festive tradition has been part of the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving celebrations since 1997, with Reba McEntire becoming the first artist to perform for the event.

Speaking to The Dallas Morning News during a sideline interview this week, Wilson recalled how meaningful it had been to take part in the campaign alongside the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, widely known as America’s Sweethearts.

“To join the Cowboy Cheerleaders two years ago and be part of The Red Kettle Kickoff for The Salvation Army was really special because it’s crazy what the Cowboys do for people in need,” she said.

Although Wilson has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, the Thanksgiving appearance stood out as a particularly memorable experience.

Performing in front of more than 90,000 people was an opportunity she embraced.

“When you’re performing in front of more than 90,000 people, to me, the more the merrier!” Wilson said.

She added that she felt more suited to larger crowds than smaller audiences, describing the performance as a significant stepping stone in her career. Sharing the stage with the cheerleaders made the occasion even more special.

Country Star Praises the Cheerleaders’ Confidence

Wilson also took the opportunity to praise the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for their confidence and commanding presence.

Having experienced the pressures of performing in the public eye herself, she expressed admiration for the way the women carry themselves.

“I appreciate the ladies on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for the confidence they carry,” she said. “These girls keep their heads high and their shoulders back, and they have a presence when they walk into the room. Girl power!”

Her comments reflected the mutual appreciation behind the reunion, which combined Wilson’s country music appeal with the cheerleaders’ signature dance style.

Viral ‘Phone, Keys, Wallet’ Dance Returns to AT&T Stadium

Before the Cowboys faced the Buccaneers on October 8, Wilson joined several cheerleaders on the sidelines to show off their moves.

The group recreated the singer’s viral dance to “Phone, Keys, Wallet”, giving fans a lively moment before the game began.

The appearance also served as a preview of Wilson’s upcoming Amazon Music Live performance, scheduled to stream on Thursday, October 15, following that evening’s Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime Video.

Wilson revealed that the show would feature her new song, “Kinda Love It”, which was released on the night of her interview. The performance would mark the song’s live debut.

“Thursday (Oct. 15) after the game you can tune into Amazon Music Live and watch our show,” she said. “I’m going to be performing my new song (‘Kinda Love It’) that actually came out tonight. It will be performed in a show for the very first time, so I’m excited about that and I invite everyone to tune in.”

With her return to AT&T Stadium, Wilson revisited a meaningful chapter in her career while giving fans a fresh glimpse of her latest music. Her pregame dance with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders also brought the singer’s popular choreography back into the spotlight ahead of her upcoming live performance.
