Meghan Markle Faces Fresh Hollywood Scrutiny as Former Power Agent’s Tell-All Book Nears Release

Meghan Markle could find herself back at the centre of Hollywood attention this week as a memoir from one of the entertainment industry’s most powerful figures prepares to hit shelves.

Ari Emanuel, the billionaire talent executive whose agency WME signed the Duchess of Sussex in April 2023, is due to release his memoir, Roll The Calls, on Tuesday. The book promises stories about major signings, firings, business victories, bitter breakups and mistakes from Emanuel’s decades in the entertainment industry.

That prospect has inevitably raised one question: what, if anything, will he say about Meghan?

Questions Surround Meghan and Emanuel’s Reported Fallout

Meghan’s relationship with WME attracted considerable attention after she signed with the agency, which represents some of the biggest names in entertainment.

But according to the report, Emanuel’s own relationship with the Duchess later became strained. Several US publications previously reported that he had become “done with her” following an alleged disagreement in early 2024.

WME confirmed that Emanuel no longer personally handles Meghan. Her portfolio, along with that of Harry and Meghan’s Archewell production company, is instead overseen by executives Carolyn Moneta and Ikenna Ezeh.

However, Meghan and Archewell remain represented by WME, according to the report.

Crucially, neither Emanuel’s publisher nor WME has disclosed whether Roll The Calls actually contains details about his reported difficulties with Meghan.

A Book Promising Few Filters

Publisher Knopf describes Emanuel’s 432-page memoir as a candid account of his extraordinary rise through Hollywood, covering everything from successful deals to “nasty breakups” and “crushing mistakes.”

That description has fuelled speculation about which famous relationships Emanuel may discuss.

One unnamed Hollywood production executive quoted in the original report suggested that former and current clients who have clashed with Emanuel could be nervous about publication day, specifically mentioning Harry and Meghan.

That remains speculation rather than confirmation of the memoir’s contents.

An Unexpected Prince Harry Connection

There is also an unusual connection between Emanuel’s book and Prince Harry’s own publishing history.

Roll The Calls was written with J.R. Moehringer — the same writer who worked with Harry on his 2023 memoir Spare.

Emanuel’s memoir is also being published by Knopf, part of Penguin Random House, the publishing group behind Spare.

The overlapping connections add another layer of intrigue, although they provide no indication of what Emanuel may actually write about the Sussexes.

For Meghan, therefore, the real significance of Tuesday remains unknown. The book promises a candid journey through Emanuel’s Hollywood career, but whether his reported falling-out with one of his most famous clients becomes part of that story will only become clear when readers see what made the final pages.
