What started as a routine introduction on The Chase suddenly took an unexpected turn when a contestant mentioned a role in a hugely popular TV series. Within seconds, Bradley Walsh realized exactly where he knew him from—and his stunned reaction quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the episode.

THE Chase’s Bradley Walsh was left open-mouthed after he recognised a contestant from a hit TV show.

Tuesday’s edition of the ITV quiz show saw four new contestants take on Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan.

First contestant up was Martin, who was an extra in Outlander

First up was Martin, who revealed he had been an actor since he was 18 and had appeared as an extra in many shows.

He said: “I have been an actor for most of my life,”

Bradley asked as his eyes widened: “Have you? What have you done?”

Martin replied: “I had one line in Outlander. That was good fun. I have done some feature films as well”

Bradley, who is currently starring in The Larkins and has also acted in Doctor Who and Coronation Street among other things, was delighted to hear about Martin’s experiences.

After Martin spoke about filming a Japanese movie in Bulgaria, Bradley said: “That is fantastic.”

Outlander airs on Starz and is an adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s historical saga which sees character Claire (Caitriona Balfe) travel back in time and meet Jamie (Sam Heughan).

Five seasons have aired so far, with fans currently awaiting the sixth, which returns in March.

Meanwhile Martin did well in his Cash Builder round, answering five questions correctly.

While Jenny pitched a high offer of £25,000, Martin decided to stick with his £5,000 and he managed to make it back to his seat and into the Final Chase.

He was joined by two of his fellow contestants and despite a good effort, Jenny managed to catch them with 16 seconds to spare, sending them home empty-handed.
