Alysa Liu’s Hairstylist Reveals the Real Reason Behind Her Viral Halo-Dye Look

Winter Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu has garnered attention for her bold halo-dye hairstyle. Liu, an American figure skater, has become an overnight sensation for her Olympic win this month, stunning audiences with her fabulous routine and extroverted personality.
Her alternative look was brought to reality by hairstylist mastermind Kelsey Miller. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the hairdresser admits that ever since Liu’s social media fame, her calendar has been booked with clients attempting to recreate the dye job.

“It’s been so surreal right now, all the attention that I’ve gotten from doing this,” said Miller. “I have definitely been receiving lots of new clients right now. My books are filling up—they are booking even into the summer and fall time.”

Miller, a cosmetologist at Thirteenth and Washington Salon went on to predict the start of a new trend. With countless DMs asking for tips on recreations, Miller suggests it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing the hairstyle repeated.
“I think you’re definitely going to start seeing more people wanting this,” Miller said. “It’s obviously a unique clientele that can rock this type of a look … but I’ve gotten some DMs from people who are asking about it and even kind of wanted to switch up the colors of the halos that she did.”
An Instagram post showcasing Liu’s appointment with Miller was posted last month, just weeks before she arrived in Milan for the games. Since Liu won gold, the reel has garnered nearly 1 million likes from Olympic fanatics. Fans took to the comments to rave about the Olympian’s iconic look.
