Crime drama fans just got some very exciting news about the next Harlan Coben adaptation.

Netflix’s forthcoming adaptation of Coben’s beloved Myron Bolitar book series will feature former Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman as sports journalist Parker Quinn, Bel-Air actor Jabari Banks as tennis prodigy Dwayne Richmond, Jamie McShane of Sons of Anarchy fame as veteran NYPD homicide officer Detective Ray Dimonte, and Gotham star Ben McKenzie as Myron’s former agent Gavin Pierce.

The latest cast update comes after Netflix first announced back in May that it was adapting Coben’s best-selling Myron Bolitar novel series, which sees the worlds of crime and sports intersect, as per Variety.

Netflix also previously confirmed that Pulse and The Continental actor Colin Woodell would be taking on the title role as investigator and sports agent Myron Bolitar, who owns MB SportsReps, which represents athletes and celebrities.

Coben’s character Myron Bolitar first appeared in the 1995 novel Dealbreaker and has since appeared in 12 novels and counting, with several fans referring to this series as his “best ever”.

A description from Netflix’s Tudum about the forthcoming series reads: “After an injury ends his NBA dreams, Myron Bolitar reinvents himself as a sports agent — using charm, smarts, and a ruthless partner to navigate the high-stakes and dirty world of sports, where saving his clients often means risking himself.”

Myron Bolitar is expected to be released at some point in 2027, but there’s no release date as yet.

Netflix’s partnership with Coben first started in 2017 when the author gave the streaming platform access to 14 of his novels.

In 2022, Netflix and Coben made a new deal, which saw 12 more novels added, including the Myron Bolitar books. Since then, the Myron Bolitar adaptation has been in the making at Netflix.

Speaking back in May about the Myron Bolitar series coming to screens, Coben said in a statement: “What an honor [sic] — not to mention, great fun — it is to partner up at Netflix with legend David E. Kelley and his remarkable team on this exciting new series.

“The Myron Bolitar books mean a great deal to me, and I’m thrilled to have such a talented and inspired group bringing them to life.”

Over on Reddit, several fans have praised the Myron Bolitar book series, with one writing: “Myron Bolitar are my personal favourite. Standalone novels Gone For Good, and Tell No One are the ones I remember most.”

“The Myron Bolitar series of course is the best of his stuff,” another argued, while one more said: “One of my all time favourite series is the Myron Bolitar series.”
