‘Play On’ cast returns to the Dollywood stage
Dollywood, Parton’s East Tennessee theme park, opened in May 1986 and has become known not only for its rides and attractions but also for its extensive lineup of live entertainment.
In 2025, the park was voted the #1 Amusement Park in America by TripAdvisor.
Among its productions is Play On, a fast-paced original show designed as a retrospective celebration of the park’s entertainment history.
The 40-minute production features songs and scenes spanning four decades of Dollywood’s award-winning shows.
The production debuted in 2025 and was scheduled to run through the end of August.
Following the news of Parton’s death, the cast returned to the stage for a performance unlike their usual shows.
Performers turn toward the audience in tribute
