‘Deadpool killer’ made chilling request to court after being sentenced to death

The media spotlight has once again been shone on ‘Deadpool killer’ Wade Wilson after he featured in a new Netflix series.

In a new season of Worst Ex Ever on Netflix, the man who murdered two women has once again attracted a lot of attention, having previously received hundreds of letters from disturbed ‘fans’ during his time behind bars.

Nicknamed the ‘Deadpool killer’ because he shares the same name as the Marvel anti-hero, Wilson was sentenced to death back in 2024 having admitted to the murder of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz.

His former girlfriend Kelly Matthews recently appeared in the true crime documentary which has left many wondering what became of Wilson after his death row sentence was confirmed in 2024.

It was during the trial that he made the bizarre request of getting to death row quickly, despite it being renowned as one of the worst places on Earth.

Addressing the court, Wilson’s lawyer said: “I understand he has other cases pending here and elsewhere… but Mr Wilson asked me to ask the court within whatever authority you have to get him to death row as soon as possible.”

Interestingly, that eagerness for the end of his life seems to have changed somewhat over the past two years or so, since he is still awaiting his fate on death row in Florida, while his legal team have appealed the decision to execute him.

Wilson strangled both Melton and Ruiz on the same night in October 2019, with the circuit judge describing his crimes as ‘heinous, atrocious and cruel’ before the jury delivered its verdict.

After murdering Melton, he stole her car and drove to the house of his ex-girlfriend Melissa Montanez with the intention of assaulting her, and just hours later he lured Ruiz into his car under the premise of asking for directions, where he horrifically strangled her before running her over with the car.

During a press conference after the sentencing, State Attorney Amira Fox said: “I’ve been doing this 34 years, and I have to say I have never seen someone as evil as Wade Wilson.

“And I have never been so stunned to see some people in the community that actually think it’s a good idea to support somebody so evil and monstrous.”

That wasn’t the only strange request that the 31-year-old made during the trial however, as he also tried to exchange information he had about his victims for some fast food.

He tried to barter with officers, offering: “Might seem stupid. Give me some french fries and a burger, and I’m gonna take you right where you want to go. That’s all I want bro.

“You’re are going to take me to eat, so I’ll show you the body right? You’re going to get me some french fries? Let’s go get this body. Come on. It’s gonna get dark. I’m hungry,” he added.

Season 2 of Worst Ex Ever is available to stream on Netflix now.
