Prince Harry is reportedly concerned that Prince William could deliver a lasting tribute to their late mother, Princess Diana, that would overshadow anything he could do himself for the 30th anniversary of her death.
The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK at the end of August after six years living in the United States, and reports have suggested he is exploring a possible documentary about Diana ahead of the anniversary in August 2027.
But according to a source quoted by RadarOnline.com, Harry is said to be frustrated by the possibility that William could make a gesture that only the future king has the power to deliver.
“Harry is raging because he feels William potentially has a card available to him that he simply cannot play,” the source claimed.
The reported plan centres on the possibility of restoring Diana’s HRH style, which she lost following her divorce from the then Prince Charles in 1996.

No such plan has been officially announced.
The source claimed that while Harry could make a documentary, give interviews and highlight his mother’s humanitarian legacy, William’s position as heir to the throne gives him a different kind of influence within the monarchy.
According to the source, restoring the HRH designation would become part of the historical record, potentially making Harry’s own tribute appear less significant.
“He doesn’t want to feel that William has outclassed and outdone him with the one tribute Harry could never deliver himself,” the source said.

She described living in Istanbul and travelling through South America, Bali, the Amazon and Moscow, adding that she had not been interested in staying in one place or committing to anything that might interfere with whatever seemed most exciting at the time.
Her comments offer an insight into why her relationship with Harry ultimately did not lead to marriage.
