The final words of a teenager who vanished on Christmas Eve have now come to light—and they’re heartbreaking. Camila Mendoza Olmos stepped out for what was supposed to be a simple early morning walk, the kind people take without a second thought. She told her loved ones she’d be back soon. She never was. As the hours passed and the holiday morning turned into panic, those last words became chilling, frozen in time. What began as an ordinary moment ended in devastating silence, leaving a family clinging to memories and questions that may never be answered.

The final words of a 19-year-old who went missing near her Texas home have been revealed by her best friend.

Camila Mendoza Olmos was last spotted leaving her home in Caspian Spring, San Antonio, at about 6:58am on Wednesday 24 December.

According to authorities, she was wearing baby blue pyjama bottoms, a baby blue and black hoodie and white shoes when she left the property, one day after she’d made plans to go dress shopping with her best friend, Camila Estrella.

Footage from a neighbour’s home security camera showed a person standing outside Olmos’ car the the early hours of Christmas Eve, which has since been confirmed to be her by Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

As reported by KSAT, all of Olmos’ belongings are still at home except her car key, though her car remains in the driveway.

Estrella said that while her best friend regularly goes on walks, she usually has her phone with her, explaining: “We’ll always be on the phone together when she walks.”

Maribel Mendoza, a family member, said: “It’s very stressful, we love her. We want her with us. We hope she comes back.”

The search for the teenager has been ongoing since Christmas Eve, with some family members even driving for 17 hours from California to Texas in search of her, with more than 100 other people helping.

BCSO said in a statement: “Camila’s mother stated that Camila normally goes for a morning walk; however, she became concerned when Camila did not return within a reasonable period of time,

“Video footage from that time shows an unknown individual, believed to be Camila, searching inside her vehicle for an unidentified item. Moments later, the footage ends. It is believed that she left the residence on foot, as her vehicle remained at the location,

“The only items known to be on her person are her car key and possibly her driver’s license,” the officers added.

Estrella revealed that she had spoken to her friend on Tuesday, making plans to look for an outfit for Estrella’s boyfriend’s family event in what were Olmos’ final known words before disappearing.

She recalled what she said to The New York Post, saying: “She said, ‘Bye Cami, I love you’.

“She was someone that was just full of love, this is so random, we never expected this,” Estrella added, saying that they spoke every day.

The woman’s mother, Rosario Olmos, told KSAT: “I called her cell phone, but the cell phone was there on the bed and it was turned off.”

“I put it to charge and went out to look for her. I thought I would find her like other times, walking, and we would come home together.”

Rosario said that she ‘asks God’ to bring her daughter home, in a situation which the teen’s father, Alfonso Mendoza, has called ‘real hard’.

The BCSO said that the Northwest Vista Community College student stands at five feet, four inches tall, weighing about 110 pounds.

Aunt Nancy Olmos claimed: “It’s just not Cami, we knew something happened,” describing this Christmas period as a ‘nightmare’.

Police said that the 19-year-old is ‘possibly endangered’ in their missing person alert.
