An 11-Year-Old Girl Survived A Gunshot Outside A McDonald’s — But The First Words She Spoke After Waking Up Are Now Breaking Hearts Across The Country

AN ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl was accidentally shot in the head by a McDonald’s worker as her family picked up their order.

Dora Belen Rivera was sat in a car parked outside waiting for her food when a bullet came flying out of nowhere.

Her dad, Oscar Roman Miron, was struck in the hip while her two siblings, two and five, were unharmed in the ordeal.

In the aftermath of the attack, Dora was rushed to hospital where she underwent emergency surgery.

Doctors were unable to remove bullet, according to a GoFundMe set up by the family.

It has since been revealed the family were not the intended target of employee Ralph N-Kosi Blue III, who shot someone running toward him while on the way to his shift.

The 18-year-old reportedly fired the weapon after getting into an altercation in the parking lot.

He has since been charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.

Hallandale Beach McDonald’s Owner Brad Ashlin said in a statement: “The individual reported to be involved is no longer employed at our organisation.

“We are devastated by the shooting that occurred outside our restaurant this past weekend.”

He continued: “Our thoughts are with the father and young daughter who were injured, as well as their family during this difficult time.”

An arrest report obtained by NBC Miami said people had come to the fast-food chain two days earlier looking for Blue – who was hiding in the back.

CCTV footage on the day of the incident showed a man running after Blue, and hiding on the other side of the SUV Dora and dad were sat in.

Blue is then seen raising his weapons and pulling the trigger.

Speaking for the first time since her operation, Dora expressed her gratitude to first responders who helped save her life.

“Thank you for everything,” she said.

“Thank you for the police. Thank you for the firefighters. Thank you for the doctors.

“It feels like I have another chance.”

Doctors say the 11-year-old has “a long road ahead of her and will continue to require therapy”.
