Birmingham singer-songwriter Pynk Beard stepped into the national spotlight on Tuesday night’s episode of NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Best known behind the scenes as the co-writer of hits including Alessia Cara’s “Scars to Your Beautiful,” the Alabama native traded the songwriter’s room for center stage, performing with a live band and debuting his original song, “Mine, Lord Willing.”

Pynk Beard’s performance brought the audience to its feet and earned glowing reviews from all four America’s Got Talent judges.

Mel B admitted the style wasn’t usually her kind of music but said the performance completely won her over. “You made me fall in love with this genre,” she told the band, praising the joy and energy they brought to the stage.

Sofía Vergara called it a “perfect audition,” applauding Pynk Beard’s vocals, the strength of the band, and the uplifting atmosphere they created. Howie Mandel went a step further, predicting they had just performed a future hit. “I believe we just heard a hit song,” he declared.

Simon Cowell echoed that sentiment, saying everything about the audition—from the song and vocals to the live band—came together perfectly. Although both he and Vergara had already used their Golden Buzzers, Cowell admitted, “If I had one, you’d be getting it,” before revealing Pynk Beard was his favorite act of the day.

With four enthusiastic “yes” votes, Pynk Beard advanced to the next round of the competition.

‘Mine, Lord Willing’ hits #11 on the iTunes charts

True to Mandel’s prediction, following the episode’s broadcast, Pynk Beard shared on social media that “Mine, Lord Willing” climbed to #11 on the iTunes charts.

While streaming services measure total audio plays, the iTunes chart specifically tracks individual paid digital downloads, serving as a direct reflection of fans purchasing the track.
