Channel 4 has added a recent Italian drama series centered around an “obsessive police inspector,” making it a perfect choice for a weekend binge-watch. Inspector Ricciardi, which originally premiered in Italy five years ago, follows the mysterious titular detective and his very unusual ability.
Ricciardi has the power to see ghosts — specifically the spirits of people who died violently — and he uses that haunting gift to help solve crimes in 1930s Naples.
For viewers interested in checking it out, all three seasons of the series are now available to stream in the UK on Channel 4 through Walter Presents.
Based on Maurizio De Giovanni’s Il commissario Ricciardi novels, Inspector Ricciardi stars Lino Guanciale — also known for The Count of Monte Cristo — in the lead role, alongside Antonio Milo, Enrico Ianniello, Serena Iansiti, and Peppe Servillo.
The series has received a strong response from viewers, with one IMDb user describing it as “delightful” and “one of the most beautiful series” they had “ever seen.”
