Collin Gosselin expressed his “anger” on a new episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

During the Thursday, Oct. 29, episode of the Fox competitive series, which puts stars through grueling challenges inspired by the real-life U.S. Special Forces selection process, Collin, 22, and the other recruits faced a challenge where they had to exert “extreme violence” and then control themselves.

“As a Special Forces operator, we are there to overpower enemies that screw with our way of life. The byproduct is extreme violence. You have to go into the dark recesses of your mind and find what motivates you to kill someone who’s trying to kill you,” DS Jason Fox told the recruits.

“This task is about finding controlled aggression,” he said, telling them they had to act like a “lunatic killer” and then stop when they’re told to. “That’s about being able to turn it on and off.”

In a confessional, Collin reflected on how his estranged mom, Kate Gosselin, was playing a role in his journey on the show. “I’m here because my mother has taken a lot of things away from me, but this course is something she can’t take away,” he said. “She took away my childhood, she took away my freedom — and I have a lot of anger.” (Kate also appeared on Special Forces on season 1.)

Before the challenge began, DS Q told Collin, “This is your chance for revenge. Use that anger, use that rage.” He asked if what Collin went through “still hurts today,” to which he said, “Yes.”

“I want you to go crazy right now,” Q told him. “When you see red, that’s your mom.”

Collin was screaming and appeared to be in a fit of rage during his turn for the challenge. DS Billy told him to give it “everything you’ve got.” After he called stop, he reminded Collin to breathe. “That was your decompression there. To release all those demons. Now, it’s done.”

Ahead of the Oct. 29 episode’s airing, Collin shared photos from Special Forces on his Instagram. “You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option,” he wrote in the caption.

Collin’s turn on Special Forces coincides with the release of his memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood. In the book, he makes numerous allegations against his mom Kate, 51, who he said kept him locked in a basement room as a child for two years and later only visited him once after sending him to a behavioral institution at age 11.

Kate — who shares Collin and seven other kids with ex-husband Jon Gosselin — denied her son’s claims about not visiting and has claimed on social media that Collin’s “violent behavior led to him being committed to a psychiatric facility for his safety and the safety of those around him.”

While Kate has not responded to specific claims in Collin’s memoir, she said in a 2023 Instagram statement that “all measures that were taken in our home were at the explicit recommendation of [Collin’s] pediatric psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists and were put into place to safeguard every member of our family, our friends as well as our family pets.”

A rep for Collin told Entertainment Tonight in a statement that Kate’s “false accusations” are “disturbing.”

“Let us be absolutely clear: Collin has never used a weapon to harm a family member, nor has he ever harmed or killed an animal in his lifetime. These allegations are categorically false. To publicly accuse your innocent child of such heinous acts to protect your reputation is beyond reprehensible. Collin has shown extraordinary courage in telling his story, and he will not be intimidated or silenced by these damaging accusations.”

New episodes of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
