Jack Osbourne tugged on the heartstrings of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers tonight as he opened up about his dad’s death.
Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76, 17 days after his last-ever live performance with Black Sabbath at Villa Park in Birmingham.
His funeral was held a week later, with fans lining the streets in his memory and wife Sharon Osbourne making a devastating appearance to read tributes laid out.
Following Ozzy’s death and the outpouring of grief it sparked, fans were surprised to see reality TV icon Jack, 40, entering the jungle, a gig he’s reportedly being paid £200,000 for.
However, he’s confirmed that he did so not only with his mum and sister Kelly’s blessing but also that of his late dad.
Speaking to Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley around the fire on the first full day in camp, Jack admitted of his death: ‘It was definitely a shock.

‘I mean, we knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock. I mean, we didn’t know it would be that quick…’
Ozzy’s health issues were well documented, particularly those limiting his mobility.
Ultimately, the Crazy Train hitmaker died of a heart attack, and he had coronary artery disease in addition to suffering from Parkinson’s disease for several years. The latter rendered him unable to walk just months before he died; hence, he did his last concert sitting on a throne.
Jack continued: ‘It was the ultimate mic drop; he did a massive big gig and was like, alright, I’m done.’
The Osbournes star then grew tearful as Lisa comforted him and explained how she could relate, having lost her mum too.
On what Ozzy would make of his jungle signing, he added: ‘He’d be so supportive of this.’

Later in the Bush Telegraph, the Adrenaline Junkie presenter told cameras that, while he appreciated the ‘connection’ with Lisa, it brought a lot of emotions back up.
He said of his grief: ‘I’m still navigating it all; it’s been three, nearly four months, and so it’s still pretty fresh.’
The media personality also joked about his children being very young when their grandfather got sick, meaning it wasn’t until his last concert that they understood his level of fame.
Taking to social media after the scenes aired, @kellyloumugg wrote lovingly: ‘Jack’s loss is still so new. I can’t even imagine. Lots of us loved Ozzy from different things (I always loved the TV show), & felt the loss, but he wasn’t our dad’.
‘Ozzy would be so proud of Jack’, @KayleighAnslow added on X.
‘Got a bit tearful there with Jack talking about Ozzy’, said @deadstar37, while @karriecakes echoed: ‘Knew I’d be in tears the second they started talking about Ozzy’.

‘Damn the emotion in Jack talking about Ozzy. Ozzy is looking down proudly I’m sure’, tweeted @LiamHoltonDrums.
Jack had previously spoken publicly about the moment he was told his dad had died.
Recalling the last time he saw the music icon alive, Jack said in an emotional YouTube video: ‘After his show, I stuck around for a week with my kids and hung out at the family house in England, and it was awesome; my dad was in an amazing mood.
‘It was a lot of fun, and looking back now, I am so grateful for that time. My dad was great; he was happy.’
Now living in Los Angeles, he awoke in the early hours to a staff member who had worked with the Osbournes for ‘about 30 years’ knocking on his door, which he knew could only mean bad news.
On his response to losing his father, he mused: ‘So many thoughts; there was a level of like, “OK, he’s not struggling. He’s not suffering anymore.” And that is something.
