Brad Paisley Recalls âCat-and-Mouseâ Details of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceâs Wedding

Brad Paisley shared a few details surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceâs wedding held at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan earlier this month. While the ceremony itself may have been massive in scale, the arena has a seating capacity of 20,000, the country star said that it was âone of the least pretentious weddingsâ heâs ever attended.
Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, were among the lucky guests invited to witness the nuptials, which were shrouded in mystery as even those attending were given little detail about the event. Swift opened for Paisley during his 2007 tour when she was a teenager, and Paisley has praised The Life of a Showgirl singer throughout her career.
âI took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite, it said, âIf youâre getting this, you mean a lot to us,’â the country singer told the Associated Press in a recent interview. âAnd it was really fun to watch the cat-and-mouse game of like, âWe can tell you roughly where itâs gonna be. Weâre not gonna say what building⌠And hereâs the date, and if youâre in, weâll tell you more.â And I went to my wife, I said, âWant to go?â Sheâs like, âAbsolutely. Weâve gotta be there.â So we did it. It was RSVP yes.â

Looking back, Paisley said it was âironically, one of the least pretentious weddings Iâve ever seen, or ever will see.â He added, âSo, yeah, it meant a lot to be⌠It was kind of a big thank you from her to invite us.â
Ahead of Swift and Kelceâs wedding, the couple donated a generous gift of $26 million across 20 charities in the U.S. The list of charities were based in cities that hold personal connections for the pair and included the Paisleyâs Nashville-based nonprofit, The Store.
âOn the eve of the wedding of Tay and Trav, this is really an amazing thing to think about, the gift they gave The Store,â Paisley said in an Instagram video thanking Swift and Kelce for their donation. âWe just wanted to take a second and say itâs transformative. It will feed so many families, and what a way to start a marriage.â
