Country singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook is preparing to release Great Television, her eighth studio recording and initial full-length offering since 2020.

The 11-track collection, produced by Shooter Jennings, functions as a companion project to The Easy Kind, a semi-autobiographical docudrama centering on Cook’s career. The album includes guest appearances from Wynonna Judd and Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan Felker, continuing Cook’s longstanding commitment to highlighting female voices within the music industry.

Recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, the project opens with “Sunset Promenade,” a three-part tribute featuring saved voice recordings from close personal connections, including fellow musicians Ashley Monroe and Chelle Rose. Cook noted the composition stemmed from a desire to write a meaningful tribute to her immediate inner circle following a period of personal isolation.

The record also revisits former hardships, notably on “The Easy Kind,” a collaboration with Judd written a decade prior following a challenging period involving personal trauma and recovery. Cook expressed that overcoming those past obstacles helped build the resilience that continues to inform her artistic output.

Reflecting on her career-long support for emerging female performers, Cook credited the strength and standard of contemporary artists like Kaitlin Butts, Ella Langley, and Willow Avalon, while noting the high bar required for women to navigate the industry.

The album’s release comes following the November 2025 passing of close friend and collaborator Todd Snider at age 59.
