Madison Beer is a bride-to-be!

The 27-year-old pop star and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert are engaged. Now, wedding jewelry experts and designers are weighing in on what the details could be of her new diamond engagement ring.

Beer and Herbert, who sparked relationship rumors in August 2025, announced the exciting news on July 28 with a series of proposal photos that give a look at the “Selfish” singer’s new rock, which is believed to have cost around $500,000 to $640,000 — and even upwards of $1 million — according to Only Natural Diamonds, Lorel Diamonds expert Laura Taylor and Frank Darling co-founder Kegan Fisher.

The exact cut and shape of Beer’s new sparkler are yet to be confirmed; however, Taylor’s eye for bling leads her to predict that the large elongated cushion-cut diamond weighs around five or six carats based on its size in the photos. Only Natural Diamonds believes that the stone could weigh up to 10 carats. Taylor adds that the diamond looks like it is “exceptionally rare” and might’ve been “difficult” to source.

With the ring’s eye-catching quality, the diamond is also believed to be set on a slim platinum or white gold band, with a “minimal” setting. “Keeping the band simple allows all of the attention to stay on the center stone, while also giving the ring a timeless feel that won’t date,” Taylor shares in a press release.

And if Beer’s new diamond is confirmed to be made in an elongated shape, Taylor adds that it provides the “best of both worlds.” That’s because “you get the softness and sparkle of a cushion-cut, but with a longer shape that makes the diamond appear larger and more flattering on the hand.”

Alison Chemla, creative director of Alison Lou, agrees that the ring’s design was intentionally made to make the diamond the star of the show. “It’s a classic solitaire [a setting that centers around one stone] that is likely in a four or six prong setting, which is a deliberate choice. It puts all the focus on the stone and lets the diamond do the talking rather than competing,” she states in a press release.

The Clear Cut‘s Olivia Landau adds, “Her ring is the perfect blend of classic and on trend with a touch of vintage inspiration.”

Engagement photos posted by Beer and Herbert in a joint Instagram post show the two beaming in celebration of their milestone. She wore a white cardigan and lace skirt by With Jéan, while he wore a white long-sleeve shirt and black pants. They captioned the photo, “Meet my fiancé.”

Last month, Beer opened up about their romance during an appearance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, revealing that the athlete came into her life “at the perfect time.”

“When I’m having a convo with my boyfriend, my hair could be on fire, and I wouldn’t notice,” she said. “And to be honest with you, he’s the first person I’ve ever felt that way about. Like, the world could be ending around me, and I wouldn’t realize.”
