The Calm Before the Global Storm: World Tour 2026-2027
The interview takes place just six days before the official launch of their highly anticipated World Tour 2026-2027, set to kick off on July 1, 2026. Despite the looming marathon of international dates, the trio appeared remarkably relaxedâperhaps a bit too relaxed, as they admitted the concert setlist wasn’t even fully finalized yet.
“We still have to define two or three songs,” Piero laughed, showcasing the easygoing confidence that only comes with nearly two decades of touring experience. “This just shows you how serene we are. We just returned from an incredible American and South American tour, and we took the last two weeks to rest and focus on our private lives.”
The summer leg of the tour promises to be a spectacular run across Europe before heading across the Atlantic later in the year:
-
July 2026: A packed month of concerts across Italy, featuring brief, exclusive stops in Spain and Greece.
-
September 8, 2026: A grand summer finale at the historic Reggia di Caserta.
-
November 2026: The official launch of the North American leg of the tour.
-
December 2026: A highly anticipated return to Italian arenas (palazzetti), hitting major cities including Bologna, Milan, Turin, Rome, and Florence.
Fans can expect a diverse repertoire, including tracks from their project Tutti per Uno, solo performances, never-before-heard live duets, and their definitive hits like Grande Amore, Capolavoro, and Jimmy Fontanaâs Il Mondo.
17 Years of ‘Musical Marriage’ and the Art of Acceptance
When Adriana Petro asked if they would still choose each other if they met today as 30-year-olds, the boys burst into laughter. “We didn’t choose each other back then, and we don’t choose each other now,” they joked, comparing their bond to that of biological siblings.
“We are like brothers in a familyâyou don’t choose them, you have to learn to love them,” Gianluca explained thoughtfully. “But there is a bit of me in them, and a bit of them in me. We have unconsciously absorbed each other. Itâs like a long marriage.”
Piero chimed in to emphasize that their survival as a group relies entirely on a “spirit of adaptation and acceptance.”
“We have been together for 17 years. If we didn’t get along, we wouldn’t have lasted 17 days,” Piero reflected. “Our secret compromise is respect and listening. Our relationship today is more beautiful than it was years ago because we’ve matured. Weâve learned to shape ourselves around one another and understand each other’s needs. In an era dominated by individualism and solo careers, staying together for 17 years is a massive news story.”
When pressed on their specific roles within this “family,” the trio revealed a hilarious domestic dynamic:
-
The Mother (Piero): The one who constantly worries, telling the others to turn down the air conditioning and take care of their health.
-
The Father (Gianluca): The grounded anchor who tries to maintain order and philosophical perspective.
-
The Child / Peter Pan (Ignazio): The free-spirited, impulsive heart of the group who refuses to grow up completely.
Surreal Anecdotes: Kitchen Selfies with Lady Gaga and Djokovic Duets
One of the most entertaining segments of the Fuori Tutto extended cut came when the group discussed their encounters with global figures, ranging from world leaders to pop royalty.
Gianluca and Piero recounted a bizarre night in Washington, D.C., that Ignazio missed because he had gone to sleep early.
“As singers, we always enter venues through the back doors, meaning we know literally every kitchen in the world,” Gianluca shared. “On this particular night, we found ourselves hanging out in a kitchen with Lady Gaga.”
According to the boys, the meeting resulted in some incredibly eccentric, ambiguous selfies that they actually ended up publishing online. “She was completely in her own world, and the photos were very peculiar, but she was incredibly lovely. It was a beautiful, surreal encounter.”
If a kitchen party with Lady Gaga wasnât enough, the trio casually mentioned another mind-bending career milestone: singing ‘O Sole Mio with tennis legend Novak Djokovic. “When you look back at it, it makes no sense,” Gianluca admitted. “It feels like a dream you wake up from. It’s an absurd, wonderful life where things you never expect just happen, giving you a constant rush of adrenaline.”
Fatherhood, TikTok, and Musical Responsibility
The conversation took a more personal and serious turn when discussing Ignazioâs recent transition into fatherhood. Having become a dad just a few months ago, the singer was asked if he feels paranoid about embarking on a massive, months-long world tour away from his newborn.
“I have zero paranoie in my life,” Ignazio stated firmly. “We have been traveling and leaving our loved ones behind since we were 14 or 15 years old, so we are built for the distance. Becoming a parent isn’t something you’re born knowing how to do; you learn it along the way. Itâs not easy, but itâs the most beautiful thing in the world, and I would do it a thousand times over.”
Ignazioâs lack of worry might also be linked to his humorous coping mechanism: retail therapy. His bandmates jokingly exposed him as the ultimate impulse spender. “Ignazio will walk into a car dealership just to look, and one minute later he walks out owning a registered car,” Piero laughed, adding that Ignazio once had to buy an entirely separate suitcase just to ship his impulse clothing purchases back to Italy from a tour.
The Role of Social Media in Modern Music
As young veterans of the industry, Il Volo also offered insightful advice to the next generation of aspiring musicians. When asked whether a 15-year-old girl dreaming of a singing career should focus on classic vocal training or immediately open a TikTok page, they insisted that the two must go hand-in-hand.
“Social media and streaming platforms are phenomenal tools. Today, we have so many more means to get noticed by the public,” Piero noted. “But study and social media must move together. Social media is the primary way we promote our art and our concerts now.”
However, Gianluca raised a critical point regarding the lack of musical depth in today’s youth culture, placing the blame not on algorithms, but on parenting:
“If adolescents today only listen to the specific genres pushed by streaming platforms, the responsibility falls on the family structure. Ignazio, Piero, and I discovered the music we sing because of our parents. Today, there is a parental responsibility to introduce kids to the classics. A teenager listening to modern trap music like Sfera Ebbasta should also know who Fabrizio De AndrĂ© is. They need to know Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. Just like in school you have to study history to understand the present, you must know musical history to understand modern music.”
Privileged, Grateful, and Grounded
As the interview wrapped up, host Adriana Petro asked each member to express gratitude to the other two. What followed was a touching moment of vulnerability, with the boys thanking each other for simply existing and making one another better people over the last 17 years.
Despite their global success, multi-platinum records, and elite status, the trio remains deeply grounded, acknowledging the profound privilege of their reality.
“We recognize that we are three very privileged guys,” Gianluca concluded. “We buy comfortâwe travel comfortably to avoid burnout on grueling toursâbut ultimately, we are just doing what we love. We were born for this.”
