A bouncer was caught on camera firing a taser into a man’s face at point-blank range outside a Carlsbad venue in a shocking attack.
The security guard is seen in the clip pulling out a stun gun and aiming it only inches from the shirtless victim’s face before shooting, sending the man to ground writhing in pain.
The victim is then seen crawling on the sidewalk as concerned bystanders check on him.
The video then cuts to bouncer being led away in handcuffs by police officers.
The bouncer, identified as David Marquez, was booked into the Vista County jail on two felony charges — assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a stun gun, according to TMZ.
The victim was taken to a trauma center, where he was treated for his injuries, though it is unclear how severe they were. Taser shots in the head are known to cause brain-related complications.
The incident occurred outside Park 101 Carlsbad Boulevard shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“The investigation determined that during the incident, a security guard allegedly deployed a stun gun during the altercation. The adult male was evaluated by the Carlsbad Fire Department and transported to a local hospital for treatment,” the Carlsbad P0lice Department told SanDiegoVille.
“Officers arrested 42-year-old David Marquez of San Marcos on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a stun gun.
“The incident remains under investigation. We are continuing to review all available evidence and have no additional information to release at this time.”
Representatives for Park 101 said the bouncer no longer works for them.

“The video is deeply disturbing, and what it shows does not reflect Park 101 or any of our establishments. The safety of our guests has always been our highest priority,” the venue’s co-owner said in a statement to SanDiegoVille.
“The individual involved is no longer working at our property, and we are terminating our relationship with that security vendor. We are cooperating fully with the Carlsbad Police Department and conducting our own internal review of how event security is selected, vetted, staffed, and trained.”
