A quirky crime procedural led by one of the legendary stars of Gossip Girl has just been added to Netflix.
Sadly, this beloved cult favourite was cancelled after just one season, which aired last year on the CW.
However, the showâs devoted contingent of fans are hopeful the show could find a second wind now itâs more widely available.
UK fans can stream all eight episodes of the small town comedy-crime drama Good Cop/Bad Cop, which was added to Netflix on Tuesday, 3rd March.
Iconic star Leighton Meester, best known as Gossip Girlâs Manhattan queen bee Blair Waldorf, portrays Lou Hickman. Until recently, Lou has been the only detective in the hamlet of Eden Vale until she convinces her dad, Chief of police âBig Hankâ Hickman (played by Clancy Brown) to hire some assistance.

Whilst using her friendly disposition to solve crimes around her neighbourhood, Lou must content with the return of her estranged brother, Henry (Luke Cook), and his subsequent promotion to detective, as well as her feelings towards Shane Carson (Devon Terrell), another detective from Eden Valeâs more prosperous neighbouring town.
Perfect for fans of lighter crime dramas such as The Rookie and Death in Paradise and small town favourites Virgin River and Sullivanâs Crossing, Good Cop/Bad Cop might be about to become your next binge-watch. Just prepare for disappointment at the end of the last episode once you realise this heartwarming drama wonât continue.
One IMDb raved in their 10/10 review of the series: âCase Closed: âGood Cop/Bad Copâ Is Guilty⊠of Being Delightful.

âThis show doesnât try to be gritty. It doesnât want to teach you a moral lesson about systemic corruption or give you a dissertation on trauma. It wants you to have fun. And boy, does it deliver.
âThe writing is clever. The characters feel lived-in from episode one. The tone? Just the right side of lighthearted, like a fizzy soda pop with a twist of lime. You can watch it with your mom, your kid, or even your super-religious sister who once filed a formal complaint against The Golden Girls for âsuggestive cheesecake.â Itâs that clean â and still that good.â
âThis show is awesome,â someone else agreed. âI canât get enough of this show, Iâve watched every episode multiple times. Each time I rewatch, it gets better.â

And a final viewer wrote: âGood Cop Bad Cop on The CW is a refreshing blend of wit, charm, and action that leaves you laughing while keeping you on the edge of your seat.
âThe series stands out for its sparkling dialogue-every line crackles with energy and clever repartee, making the banter between the leads a true highlight.â
