A clip of a couple arguing in the stands of the World Cup has gone viral, leaving thousands wondering what they were bickering about.
In the video, which has been widely shared across TikTok and X, a group of South African fans is seen dressed in team merchandise and waving flags in the stands.
However, the mood quickly shifts when a woman appears to take issue with her partner.
During the match against South Korea in Monterrey, Mexico, the woman glances over at the man next to her, who is looking at his phone.
She appears visibly bothered by either what is on the screen or the fact that he is on his device, and confronts him.
Internet users claim that the man appeared dismissive before finally putting his mobile away.
The two then continue to talk, and at one point, it seems something strikes a nerve with the man.
The woman eventually sits down and disengages from the discussion, but the man continues to turn around to look at her in an agitated state.
As the row goes on, the man continues to dance and cheer – even feeding food to another woman standing next to him while his partner sits in her seat looking upset.
Social media users flooded the comments section to speculate on the fight, with many demanding the woman “file for divorce.”
“How can I file a divorce for someone else?” one user on X asked.
“Mood went from 100 to 0 in a split second,” another noted on TikTok.
“I could feel her heart sink into her stomach, because I’m also a woman,” a third wrote.
Others theorized that he may have been placing bets on the game or texting another woman.
Meanwhile, many viewers couldn’t get over the fact that the camera operator lingered on the couple for over a minute, branding them “nosy.”
“The cameraman was so invested,” one person said.
“Must be the same Coldplay cameraman,” another joked.
Despite the footage racking up millions of views, no further details have emerged to explain exactly what happened between the two.
It comes after a similar broadcast blunder went viral during a Coldplay concert nearly a year ago, where the venue’s “Jumbotron” filmed an incredibly awkward crowd interaction.
In that clip, the stadium camera operator filmed a man and a woman caught in the middle of an intimate moment.
It turned out to be Andy Byron, the CEO of tech company Astronomer, and the company’s Head of HR, Kristin Cabot.
Upon realizing they were on camera and being displayed to the massive crowd, the pair immediately separated and tried to hide their faces.
Lead singer Chris Martin inadvertently fuelled the ensuing scandal by poking fun at the awkward interaction live on stage, saying: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
The clip exploded, ultimately leading to both executives resigning from their positions amid the public fallout.
