According to multiple media reports, Nicola Peltz Beckham’s parents, Claudia and Nelson Peltz, have been named in a new lawsuit over an alleged dog attack, marking the second case of its kind involving the family in two years. The latest filing is drawing renewed attention as new details emerge about the claims and the ongoing legal dispute.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham‘s wife Nicola Peltz Beckham’s parents, Claudia and Nelson Peltz, have been hit with a second lawsuit regarding an alleged dog attack.

Joy Ransom filed a lawsuit against the billionaire couple on July 10, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE. She alleges that she was attacked by the couple’s rescue dog, Houdini, on Dec. 23, 2025. Nicola, 31, was present when the alleged incident occurred, Ransom claims.

Ransom alleges in her lawsuit that the family was aware Houdini had a history of being “prone to attack people” prior to the alleged incident, and “never had K-9 training or behavior training.” The lawsuit also claims Ransom, who was working in the Peltz residence preparing holiday gifts, was “not negligent in causing the incident.”

Ransom’s lawsuit claims she “incurred medical expenses” following the attack, and that Houdini was not “under any form of restraint or control” in the home despite his owners’ alleged prior knowledge of his behavior.

Claudia and Nelson were previously sued by a different former employee in Palm Beach County, Fla., who claimed that on Dec. 16, 2024, Houdini was “lunging and attempting to attack” her, causing her to fall and become injured, per Ransom’s court docs.

The lawsuit additionally claims Claudia and Nelson “failed to report Houdini’s dangerous propensities to the appropriate animal control authority and failed to obtain a certificate of registration for Houdini.”

Ransom is suing the couple for over $50,000 in damages, and is demanding a jury trial, per the court documents, which claim she suffered “bodily injury and resulting physical and mental pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, loss of earnings and impairment of earning capacity and/or permanent aggravation of a pre-existing condition, and further incurred hospital bills, medical bills, and/or other bills as a result of said injuries.”
