Billy Bob Thornton didn’t just take a swipe — he torched daytime TV in a moment viewers didn’t see coming. During a sharp exchange in Landman, when T.L. casually admitted he had no idea what The View even was, Thornton’s character leaned in with a description so blunt it instantly went viral: a “bunch of pissed-off millionaires bitching about” Donald Trump.

During a phone call between estranged father and son, Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) and T.L. (Sam Elliott), the oil executive did not mince his words as he described The View to his father, who just moved into Tommy’s home after years of them not speaking.

When T.L. called to tell Tommy he didn’t “know what to do,” Tommy said his dad should “do whatever you want to do.”

“Read a book or watch TV — watch one of them daytime talk shows, you know, like The View or something,” Tommy suggested, which prompted T.L. to ask, “What’s The View?”

Tommy then described the ABC talk show, which is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, in no uncertain terms.

The View is, he said, a “bunch of pissed off millionaires bitching about how much they hate millionaires — and [President Donald] Trump and men and you and me — and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about.”
