The BBC has released the first trailer for an upcoming psychological thriller featuring Ruth Madeley, India Amarteifio and Ruth Jones
The BBC has unveiled a first glimpse trailer for a psychological thriller that was filmed in Wales.
The Rapture – featuring Ruth Madeley, India Amarteifio and Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones – is based on Liz Jensen’s bestselling novel about a teenager accused of murdering her mother, who maintains she possesses the ability to foresee disasters, reports the Mirror.
The short trailer shows Madeley as forensic psychologist Gabs Fox, who is employed at a maximum security psychiatric facility where she encounters 17-year-old Bethany, portrayed by India.
She receives a warning that the youngster is “very dangerous” though the teen asserts: “We are all here to find the truth.”
A synopsis teased: “Bethany was convicted of murdering her mother but claims she is innocent. She is estranged from her father Leonard (played by Sam Hazeldine), who is the charismatic leader of an influential religious movement.
“Bethany tells Gabs that she has psychic powers and can predict the future – but what will it take for Gabs to believe her? And if Bethany didn’t kill her mother, then who did?”
The production will also feature The History Boys’ Stephen Campbell Moore, Lisa Palfrey from Sex Education and Siena Kelly from Black Mirror.
Robert Rhodes from 28 Years Later and House of the Dragon will also appear in the cast of the show, which the BBC said is “a high-stakes thriller which crackles with danger”.

The Rapture will air on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
