ESPN receives major backlash for viral Angel Reese post as WNBA fans say ‘it’s wild’
ESPN has faced plenty of criticism over an Angel Reese social media post that has been viewed millions of times.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports decided to highlight an awkward sequence between Reese and her former teammate.

The Seattle Storm defeated the Atlanta Dream, 105-90 over the weekend.
It was the first game between the Sky star Reese and Johnson, both of whom were teammates at LSU.
Johnson’s squad got the better of Reese, who wanted no part of reuniting with her college teammate.
ESPN posted a clip of Johnson huggering her teammates before the final buzzer.
She then attempted to give Reese a handshake, but the forward walked right past her.
ESPN’s video has been viewed 7.1 million times and counting.
WNBA fans are now calling out ESPN for promoting the moment on X.
“ESPN literally never posts Angel unless they’re attempting to say something negative. It’s wild,” one wrote.
“Whoever runs this page just know you ain’t safe,” another commented.
“People depend on Angel for viral moments….still,” a third added.
Reese finished the game with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Johnson, meanwhile, recorded a team-high 24 points along with 11 rebounds and four assists.
