Arthur Fery gets surprise birthday gift from Princess Kate after incredible Wimbledon run and makes bold offer to Royals
ARTHUR FERY was treated to a birthday to remember as he was given a gift by Princess Kate.
The tennis star made a fairy-tale run to the semi-finals at Wimbledon this month after entering as the world No114.
But he eventually fell to a defeat at the hands of No2 seed Alexander Zverev, who booked a spot against Jannik Sinner in the final.
But as consolation prizes go, Fery won’t have much to complain about after a special interaction on his return to SW19 on the men’s final day.
The rising star bumped into Princess Kate, Patron of the All England Club, as he soaked up the finals atmosphere on his 24th birthday.

She was clearly prepared for the heartfelt interaction, and handed him a card while telling him: “This is for you! Happy birthday.”
Perhaps keen to return the favour, Fery then made the bold offer to teach her children the ropes of tennis.
Fery graciously asked the royal “I hear your children play tennis?” Before adding that if they ever wanted to “hit some balls,” he would be available.
He elaborated on the interaction afterwards, explaining: “I know the whole family are all tennis fans, so I told her if her kids ever wanted to hit, I’m free.
“It would be good to see them again. I don’t know, let’s see if I get the call up.”
It was a heartwarming interaction after what must have been a difficult loss for Fery to take.
But it seems the Princess’ visit did something to cheer him up and make his 24th that little bit more special.
He added: “The Princess came to my match in the second round, it was great to have her there and we spoke a little about that.
“It was good to see her here and good to meet her finally. She wished me good luck for the rest of the year and congratulated me for these two weeks.”
It’s been a week for gifts for Fery, who will pocket £900,000 for his performances at the tournament.
