Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton Ignite Nashville’s New Venue With Surprise Performance
Miranda Lambert had already planned a special night for Nashville, but she made it even more memorable when Chris Stapleton unexpectedly joined her onstage.
Lambert marked the release of her new album Crisco with a one-night-only concert at The Truth, Nashville’s newest venue. The sold-out October 1 performance opened the venue and featured songs from the new record alongside some of Lambert’s biggest hits. The concert also included a 12-piece string section.
The evening became an especially notable moment when Stapleton appeared to perform their Grammy-nominated duet, “A Song To Sing.”
Miranda Lambert Opens a New Chapter With Crisco

Crisco represents a new chapter for Lambert as her first album under MCA. The record blends the country sound associated with her career with elements of disco and funk.
The album brings together different sides of Lambert as an artist, from the storyteller and traditionalist to the romantic, troublemaker, wanderer and dreamer.
It also includes two notable collaborations: “Snakeskin Boots” with Ella Langley and “A Song To Sing” with Chris Stapleton.
The album contains 12 tracks, with Lambert exploring a more playful country-disco direction while retaining the songwriting and vocal style that have defined her music.

Lambert and Stapleton’s collaboration began with “A Song To Sing,” their first true duet partnership.
The song was released in July 2025, with the single arriving on July 11 and impacting country radio on July 14. Lambert and Stapleton co-wrote it with Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor.
The duet later earned nominations for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
At its heart, “A Song To Sing” is about the emotional power of music—how a melody can hold memories, tell a story and offer comfort during difficult moments. Lambert’s distinctive voice carries the song while Stapleton’s harmonies give the performance another dimension.
The collaboration also became one of the defining moments connecting Crisco to Lambert’s evolving musical direction.
Chris Stapleton Gives Nashville a Surprise
Lambert began her performance at The Truth with “Kerosene,” her first-ever single, before moving through several familiar hits and songs from Crisco.
Among the new material were “Crisco,” “Snakeskin Boots,” which she performed solo, and “A Song To Sing.”
Then came the surprise.
As Lambert introduced the Grammy-nominated duet, she announced, “Please welcome, Mr. Chris Stapleton!”
The crowd erupted as Stapleton walked onto the stage.
The unexpected appearance transformed an already significant night into a memorable live collaboration between two of country music’s most recognizable voices. Lambert and Stapleton then shared the stage for “A Song To Sing,” giving the Nashville audience the chance to hear the pair perform their collaboration together.
The moment also highlighted what makes live country music so compelling: two artists with distinctive voices and established identities coming together for a performance the audience did not expect.
Lambert and Stapleton have each built careers around recognizable vocals, songwriting and an ability to connect with listeners. Their surprise appearance together at The Truth brought those qualities into the same performance.
A Special Night for The Truth

The concert was more than an album-release celebration for Lambert. It also marked the opening of The Truth, Nashville’s newest venue.
Lambert’s one-night performance was sold out, and Amazon Music later announced that the concert would be presented as a Songline Live broadcast on October 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch, giving fans who were not inside the venue another opportunity to experience the show.
For those in the room, however, the surprise appearance by Stapleton offered an especially memorable highlight—one that brought together Lambert’s new musical era, a major Nashville venue opening and one of her most celebrated recent collaborations.
