Savannah Guthrie has issued another emotional plea for answers as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues.
The Today show host shared a deeply personal post on Instagram Sunday after coming across an old drawing by her 12-year-old daughter, Vale. The handwritten message on the drawing read: “I know it might not seem like it, but I really need my mommy.”
For Savannah, 54, those words captured the pain her family continues to carry as they wait for answers about Nancy, who remains missing.
“We Cannot Move Forward”
Sharing the drawing with her followers, Savannah explained that life may appear to be returning to normal on the surface, but her family is still living with the uncertainty of her mother’s disappearance.
“Found this old drawing from my daughter today,” she wrote. “It says so much about how I feel. The world goes on, things appear ‘normal’ — as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids — but it’s not and it never will be.”
Savannah said she and her family continue to ache for Nancy, 84, and are still desperately searching for someone who can provide information about what happened to her.
“We cannot move forward,” she wrote. “We need someone to help us, tell us what you know.”
Describing her mother as “a light in this world,” Savannah pleaded with anyone who may have information to come forward.
“We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves,” she continued. “The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.”
Nancy Guthrie Disappeared From Her Arizona Home
Savannah’s latest message comes months after Nancy vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
Nancy was last seen at her home at around 9:30 p.m. local time on January 31. Hours later, the FBI released footage showing a masked individual outside her door.
The investigation has since been complicated by the arrival of several ransom notes. The first, which was received on February 6, demanded millions of dollars and claimed that Nancy was being held for ransom.
“She is safe but scared,” the note stated. “She will be held for ransom and once payment is received, she will be released unharmed. We will be holding her for a maximum of seven days.”
Despite the passage of time, Savannah and her family have continued to appeal for information that could help bring clarity to Nancy’s disappearance.
Savannah Previously Shared Her Fear That Her Mother May Be Gone
In mid-February, Savannah shared an emotional video in which she acknowledged the painful possibility that her mother might no longer be alive.
“We also know that she may be lost,” she said. “She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in Heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce and with our daddy.”
But even as she spoke about the possibility of losing her mother, Savannah made clear that the family still needed answers.
“And if this is what is to be, then we will accept it, but we need to know where she is,” she said. “We need her to come home.”
Savannah and her family are offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to Nancy.
Months after her mother’s disappearance, the uncertainty remains as painful as ever. Savannah’s latest post makes clear that, while the rest of the world continues moving forward, her family remains caught in a heartbreaking search for the answers they still do not have.
