The Season 24 Finale Of American Idol Aired On May 11th

Jordan McCullough auditioned for Season 24 of American Idol by singing “Goodness of God.” Months later, the 27-year-old worship leader from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, performed the same song during the season finale on May 11th.

Moments after that performance, McCullough was named the runner-up of Season 24. Hannah Harper, known for her original, viral song “String Cheese,” was declared the champion.

Harper and McCullough became close friends during their time on Idol. Just one day before the finale, McCullough celebrated Harper and their fellow finalist, Keyla Richardson, in a sweet Mother’s Day post.

So when Harper was named the winner of Season 24, McCullough’s face lit up with joy. The singers shared a hug as the crowd cheered.

Although details concerning Harper’s grand prize remain unclear, we do know that both she and McCullough received a vacation package. Host Ryan Seacrest revealed during the finale that they will each get to bring three guests on a Disney Cruise to Alaska!

Not to mention, both Harper and McCullough will have many new career opportunities as the winner and runner-up of American Idol.

Jordan McCullough Reacts After Being Named The Runner-Up On American Idol

Shortly after the American Idol finale went off-air, Jordan McCullough shared a post in response to the season’s conclusion and his second-place finish.

He included a photo of himself performing on the Idol stage, captioning it:

“‘It may not be all that I hope for And every dream has not been realized And to see Your face one day, God I know it’s all gonna be worth it… so I thank you for my Life!’”

Jordan also reflected on his Idol journey during a post-finale interview with On the Red Carpet. He shared his appreciation for winner Hannah Harper and third-place finisher Keyla Richardson, saying:

“I mean, what we saw tonight was true love. We needed that as a country, we needed that as a world, and as people, to love and support one another.”

McCullough continued to say:

“I’m so grateful for ‘American Idol.’ I’m grateful for the family that it creates. I’m grateful for the values that it establishes and the morals that it corrects. I’m so grateful that I’m a part of the ‘Idol’ family.”
